The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Return to Earn initiative provides money for small businesses to offer hiring incentives for new workers. This application is for businesses located within the city of Lynchburg and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell.

Small businesses with fewer than 100 employees may be able to receive funds to cover the cost of paying bonuses to new hires. Eligible businesses can receive up to $500 per worker.

New hires must be working in a taxable (W-2) position that pays at least $15.00 per hour and can be either part-time or full-time. To qualify, new hires must self-attest that they were unemployed for at least 30 days prior to being offered employment.

This electronic application will assist us in confirming eligibility and drafting a formal agreement for funding. All information must be provided in full to be considered. All information is considered confidential.

This project is 100% funded by an award from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I grant (AA-34799-20-55-A-51) in the amount of $75,195.
